May 15 2003 - Herman Dune

It's interesting looking at the tracklistings for these shows that have been sitting unheard on my hard disk for five years. There's a few bands in tonight's show that I've only "discovered" recently, and one that I rediscovered a matter of weeks ago. In no particular order, they are Ten Benson, Noxagt and The Broken Family Band. That probably says something about the timelessness of these shows. Or something.

May 13 2003 - Aphex Twin live at ATP

Good timing with this one, seeing as this year's All Tomorrow's Parties has just been and gone. Tonight there's a live set from the Aphex Twin, alongside tracks by Captain Beefheart, The Undertones and Mogwai.

September 5 2002 - Cowcube

If I remember rightly, Cowcube was a guy from Stourbridge who happened to bump into Peel one day in town and handed him a homemade CD. I don't know if he ever got a record deal but he got a fair bit of airplay on Peel's show at the time. Ella Fitzgerald also pops up on tonight's show, along with Pulp, The Flaming Stars and many, many more.
